Dalriada Luxury Lodges has a Green Tourism ‘Gold’ Award

At Dalriada Luxury Lodges we want to ensure that our impact on the environment is kept to a minimum. As a symbol of our commitment we have joined the Green Tourism Business Scheme which provides accreditation and advice to tourism businesses.

Our efforts have recently been rewarded by achieving a Gold Level in this scheme. By implementing as many sustainable practices as possible we hope to ensure the continual enjoyment of Aberdeenshire for generations to come.

Where possible we attempt to:

• Reduce waste by recycling everything possible: glass, plastic, tins, cans, aluminium, paper, cardboard
• Control our energy and water usage by using low energy light bulbs, switching off lights, turning off appliances, turning off radiators when rooms are unoccupied, buying A rated appliances, dual flush toilets
• Encourage our guests to re-use towels and bed linen for the duration of their stay
• Use local produce and suppliers as often as possible
• Use fair trade products where possible
• Encourage use of public transport and provide timetables to our guests
• Provide a digital guest app for guests to use before and during their stay
• Provide maps and information to walkers and cyclists
• Ample bicycle storage is available for each lodge
• Encourage guests to use local shops, cafes and restaurants
• Support local businesses by selling books, art work and offering special discounts for attractions
• Encourage wildlife in the garden and provide information to our guests
• Minimize use of cars as far as possible by offering bicycle hire through a local company
• Provide electric vehicle charging points on site
• Continually seek ways to improve our commitment to green issues by involving our guests and staff
