Seven times Open Championship venue Carnoustie Golf Links is just a short drive or train ride down the coast and will once again host the Open during July 2018.

Dalriada guests will enjoy exclusive discounted round rates at a wide range of local golf courses. You can select from one of our great value packages or we can help you create a bespoke set of outings to suit your own requirements. We can also secure preferential rates at Trump International and Royal Aberdeen.

Here is a brief overview of our ‘White List’ of golf clubs participating in Dalriada’s golf package experiences:

Cruden Bay Golf Club:

Cruden Bay Golf Club caters for both members and visiting golfers from across the world. The Golf Course creates unique challenges demanding the skills of power, placement and fine judgment upon the discerning golfer. Set against a backdrop of subtly contoured greens and magnificent panoramic views, the course truly justifies its position as 54th Best Course in the World in the 2013 US publication Links Magazine, 70th in the World in the 2013-14 Golf Digest Top 100, and the 2nd Top Fun Course in Great Britain & Ireland in the Golf World Magazine. There are more awards and accolades including the Scottish Golf Tourism Award for Top Course in Scotland and many others.  We could go on, but you are better off just playing a round or two to experience it for yourself.

Cruden Bay is situated on the east coast of Scotland 23 miles north of Aberdeen and only two hours drive from St Andrews, the “Home of Golf”. Cruden Bay offers an internationally famous golfing experience with old-fashioned links golf at its best – on one of the best links courses in Scotland.

Murcar Links Golf Club:

Situated just 10 minutes from Aberdeen city centre, Murcar Links is an attractive 18 hole course situated on the coast of Aberdeenshire with superb views across the North Sea. It’s a European Tour venue, having hosted the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play in 2015. In June 2018 Murcar Links will host The R&A 123rd Amateur Championship qualifying rounds.

Murcar Links has risen to No 35 in the Golf World Magazine ranking of the Top 100 Courses in Scotland.  The judging panel highlighted ‘some great holes, scenically and strategically’, while overall Golf World verdict was ‘enjoyable whether in the dune valleys or near the sea’.  The course is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea.  Playing Murcar Links is a truly memorable and rewarding experience where each hole offers its own challenge.

Balmoral Castle:

Within the grounds of Balmoral Castle is a spectacular nine-hole / eighteen tee private parkland golf course.

Your round of golf starts from the club cabin, meanders its way around cairns and monuments from Queen Victoria's reign and continues beside the magnificent River Dee. The course is 4,825 yards / par 67 for gents and 4,459 yards / par 69 for ladies and was constructed in 1925.

A range of specific tee times for up to four players on a limited number of dates during July. A limited number of days are available for up to  30 players. Please note that availability is limited.

Panmure Golf Course:

Panmure is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world dating back to 1845. It is situated between the Courses of Monifieth and Carnoustie on the east coast of Scotland. Influenced by James Braid, this golf course is approximately 8 miles from Dundee 20 miles from St Andrews and within an easy travelling distance of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow.

The Golf Course combines the best elements of links and heath, with tight fairways, challenging carries and compact, undulating greens. Old Scots pines and sandhills forged by nature give the terrain an enduring quality in keeping with the Club’s long history. Hallmarks such as the ‘Hogan’ hole (the sixth) and the Buddon Burn (the twelfth) conspire to give you a round of golf to remember and the old clubhouse, as a backdrop to the last three holes, beckons you home.

The Clubhouse is one of the finest old golf buildings in Scotland. Its unique and delightful lounges are full of character. Devotees of the history of golf will be interested to know of the origins, borne of the close trading relationship between Dundee and Calcutta in the halcyon days of the Jute Industry with the clubhouse being modelled on that of Royal Calcutta GC.  Friendly staff afford a real Scottish welcome and good food and wine will complete your day here.

Monifieth Golf Links:

Enjoy a golfing day out at Monifieth Golf Links – just 30 minutes travelling time from St. Andrews, 20 minutes from Dundee Airport and within 2 hours of Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen Airports.

Play traditional links golf over two golf courses in excellent condition, the Medal Course, and the Ashludie Course.

The Medal Course:  The Medal was elected by the Royal and Ancient GC of St. Andrews as a final qualifying course for the 2007 Open Championship.

The Ashludie Course:  This course has recently undergone a three-year recovery programme and is in excellent condition with well grassed narrow running fairways, lush semi-rough, penal heavy rough and fast consistent greens not to mention the deep rivetted bunkers to test any standard of golfer.  A compact and challenging test of golf, the Ashludie course requires more brain than brawn, demanding accurate iron shots to the well-respected greens. At just over 5000 yards in length, this course offers any golfer immense enjoyment played on its own or as a second round in a days outing.

Deeside Golf Club:

Nestling on the banks of the River Dee this traditional Scottish parkland golf course was created in 1903. It is considered one of the best inland courses in Scotland and hosts a number of prestigious events throughout the year. Members, guest, and visitors can relax in comfort and enjoy the surroundings which are complemented by the stunning views over the 18th green and the valleys of Royal Deeside. Enjoy a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere in our restaurant with superb views overlooking 1st and 18th greens.
